Nothing I love more than family, cider mills, and smiles. Enjoy these beautiful smiling faces!

Jess and Cherie had a great idea…lets go to the Spicer Apple Orchard in the fall to do their engagement photos! With a beautiful morning FULL of sunshine, not only did I have a load of fun, but I fell in love with Spicer! (their cider and donuts were waaaaay better than many others!)
Angela and Garth got married on a very special date to them, Oct 2, 2010. The whole night was at Barrister Gardens in St. Clair Shores, MI, and I think they’re still cleaning up after the party! Not only was it an amazingly fun night for everyone involved, but Angela is one bride whose smile just seemed to radiate at those around her! It was also the maiden voyage for my photobooth, so you will see it in the background a few times, and did their guests keep it hopping ALL night! I wish the happy couple a big congratulations, and don’t forget to tag your friends over on the facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/derekcooksonphotography !
Now, I don’t normally get many chances to photograph babies…but BabyB has a special place in my heart. Even though I don’t normally shoot “studio” work, I have a hard time ever telling her no! So when her parents came to me with an idea, I ran with it. And that idea? A Giant Rubber Ducky. Enjoy! And if they put a smile on your face, head over to the facebook page and tell your friends about it! http://www.facebook.com/derekcooksonphotography
L and C are simply ADORABLE. When their Mom contacted me about going to an Apple Orchard to take their photos, I was ecstatic! How many wonderful memories do I have from being a child in the county (in my homeland of Canada!) and going to the orchards in the fall? Little did I know just HOW cute it could be to relive it through my camera, and one heck of a little pink tutu. (for the record, MY childhood did not personally involve a tutu, I’m just using an analogy..ha!) We travelled to the uber-fun Theissen Orchards outside Leamington, Ontario ;with hayrides, games, and a whole lot of fun for kids, I highly recommend it as a great family day-trip! Jen and Dan –My SECOND bride and groom named Jen and Dan for the year  as well!– were such an awesome pair of people. Since they had already been married in a FANTASTIC ordeal over in Germany, this was their “American” reception, and a chance for Jen to look utterly stunning in her dress for a SECOND time! Being that this was a Sunday morning brunch-style reception, the morning was cool, relaxed, and completely lacking of the usual stress of a wedding day – something that suited these two very well! We were at the beautiful tented reception area at the Birmingham House, in Birmingham, Michigan. Jen is one of those brides who you meet, and completely understand why Dan has fallen in love with her, for she just lightens the room around her whenever she smiles. Luckily, Dan happens to make her smile a LOT, so it works out wonderfully! Congratulations to the happy newlyweds, and don’t forget to tag your family and friends in the photos over on our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/derekcooksonphotography
